Vietnamese business delegation visits Sri Lanka

Aug 21, 2017 (LBO) - A 20-member Vietnamese business delegation visited Sri Lanka last week, which was arranged after the visit by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in April this year. "At the bilateral talks held between the two Prime Ministers both dignitaries agreed to achieve US dollars one billion annual bilateral trade within the next few years," the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ha Noi said in a statement. The business delegation, led by Do Huu Huy, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Industry & Trade of Viet Nam, included members from Vietnamese conglomerates in fields such as agriculture, power generation, food and beverage, electrical and electronic products and dairy products. The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce acted as the local host of the visiting delegation. Prior to the visit, the national television of Viet Nam, Nhan Dan TV Channel had sent a media crew to Sri Lanka to produce a documentary on the present dynamics in Sri Lanka’s investment, business and tourism environment.
