Sri Lanka stocks close up 0.2-pct on three week high: Poultry gains

 

Sep 22, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lankan stocks closed up 0.20 percent on Tuesday with gains in John Keels Holdings and poultry stocks, brokers said.

The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed up 14.01 points at 7,118.38 higher 0.20 percent.

S&P SL20 closed 17.98 points higher at 3,899.02 up 0.46 percent.

Turnover was 806 million rupees, up 667 million rupees Tuesday with 82 stocks closing positive against 96 negative.

The main index showed gains in John Keels Holdings closing at 175.30 rupees, up 2.30 rupees with one off the floor trade recorded with 230,000 shares traded at 175.00 rupees.

Lanka Orix Leasing closed at 102.60 rupees, up 5.80 rupees and Hemas Holdings closing at 87.40 rupees, up 1.40 rupees. Gains were also seen in the poultry sector with all three counters hitting 52 week high prices. Three Acre Farms closed at 145.70 rupees, up 3.60 rupees with over one million shares traded and Grain Elevators closed at 95.20 rupees after hitting a 52 week high of 92.60 rupees. Bairaha Farms closed at 203.90 rupees, up 10.40 rupees.
