7 million rupees worth tools and equipment to a Sri Lanka based organization making artificial limbs, the Japanese embassy in Colombo said.
. The ‘Colombo Friend-in-Need Society’ gives ‘Jaipur’ artificial limbs with rehabilitation free of charge to needy people, and helps about 1,000 people a year, the embassy said.
The equipment and tools were handed over by Japanese envoy Nobuhito Hobo to Kalayani Ranasinghe, the President of Colombo Friend-in-Need Society and other representatives.
Japan and Sri Lanka celebrated 60 years of diplomatic relations this year.
