Sri Lanka industrial production index up 0.4-pct in June

4 percent in the month of June, 2018 compared to the same month in 2017, the Census and Statistics Department said.
Among the manufacturing industries; volume of products of ‘Coke and refined petroleum products’ (33.
7 percent),
‘Manufacture of fabricated metal products’ (19.1 percent) and ‘Manufacture of Textiles’(15.
6 percent) have shown remarkable increases meanwhile ‘Manufacture of paper and paper products ’ (27.
4 percent), has reported decrease during this period.
The industrial production of the manufacturing sector for the second quarter of 2018 has increased by 0.
6 percent compared to the same quarter in 2017.
Among the manufacturing industries; volume of products of ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ (15.0 percent), has shown a remarkable increase in production during the 2nd quarter of 2018, compared to 2nd quarter of 2017 and products of ‘Manufacture of electrical equipment’ (17.2 percent), reported a decrease during this period.
