If worldwide consumer trends are anything to go by, doom is imminent.
That's not because, people don’t want music to go, easy photography or to organize their schedule, but because mobile phones can do many of these things already.
Worldwide mobile phone purchases have outstripped digital cameras, MP3 players and PDA’s by a large margin.
Why buy all that when most up end phones can do all that.
In fact around two fifths of the nearly 700 million mobiles sold worldwide last year had small digital cameras attached to them.
Convergence in telecoms, internet and broadcast technology have already blurred the lines for many companies in developed markets that have had to adapt fast to stay competitive.
Ones that took too long to make the transition became takeover targets.
