May 27, 2013 (LBO) – Sri Lanka Ports Authority said operations at Colombo Port are as usual following a fire in the early hours of May 24.
SLPA is looking at compensating customers whose cargo was damaged, the SLPA said.

“At present, all operations at SLPA and the Port of Colombo are carried out as usual without any interruption or delay,” the ports agency said.

The fire at Container Freight Station 01, is being probed by police and forensic analysts, the ports agency said.

More than 50 customers have so far responded with information about cargo, through a customer centre the SLPA said.
