To me what interests is the type of people who get an audience with the Pope. John Amaratunga who has many controversies surrounding him since he took office in 2015, Arundika who make controversial statements on the disappearance of Prageeth Eknaligoda and Sudarshani Fernandopulle who has to still account for the illegal money her husband made through road contracts. Obviously bigger the sinner, the closer one can get to the Pope.

its the local catholic church (and its head) who recommends the people who can get to see the pope. not the fault of the pope. to his credit the pope is very accommodating and more down to earth than our idiots. he will only get a dossier on the people coming to see him and surely the juicy bits are not included.
do u really think a man who meets hundreds of people most days can really keep a track of the people he comes accross? and specially from a backwater like sri lanka?
ask him to day and he would have forgotten the name of the president LOL
