Sep 16, 2019 (LBO) – The Lotus Tower in Sri Lanka, the tallest in South Asia, will be open to the public from today.
The 350 m tall Tower was constructed at a cost of 104.3 million dollars with funding from the Government of China and covers an area of 30,600 sq.m.
Lotus Tower will function as a TV tower, a hotel, a shopping mall and a conference centre.
It will be declared open by President Maithripala Sirisena with the participation of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa.
There is also a restaurant and a communication museum on the ground floor. The sixth storey tower has two exhibit halls for the faculty. The observatory has been built on the seventh floor.
