Writing Prize

June 26, 2008 (LBO) – Journalists who write on issues related to institutions of a free society, free markets and sound science have until June 30, to submit their work and win 15,000 US dollars in prize money, a top think thank has said.
The International Policy Network’s (IPN) Bastiat Prize for journalism is inspired by Frederic Bastiat, a 19th century French philosopher and journalist.

The submissions must have appeared between July 01, 2007 and June 30, 2008.

Entries can be submitted online.

Authors stand to win 15,000 US dollars in prize money this year.

Entries this year would be judged by a board made up of Anne Applebaum, Washington Post; Brian Carney, Wall Street Journal; Professor Bibek Debroy, International Management Institute, New Delhi; Judge Douglas Ginsburg, Washington DC Court of Appeals; Lord Lawson, former British Chancellor of the Exchequer; Matt Ridley, author on genetics and human behaviour; Amity Shlaes, Syndicated Bloomberg columnist; senior fellow in economic history, Council on Foreign Relations.
