May 07, 2008 (LBO) – Dialog Telekom, Sri Lanka’s top celco has been named the most valuable brand in Sri Lanka in a ranking by Brand Finance, the company said Wednesday. The Dialog brand has been valued at 12.4 billion Sri Lanka rupees, retaining its place from last year.
The ranking uses publicly available data and a market study made up of 1,600 respondents, Dialog said.
“Our brand belongs to, and lives within our customers. It is they who have made the brand in to what it is today,” Dialog chief Hans Wijayasuriya said in a statement.
“The value of our brand is indicative of the true value and potential of our Sri Lankan consumer.”
Though starting in mobiles, the company is now in fixed telephony, digital television and broadband services.
Commenting on the Dialog brand and its direction as perceived by the Company today Mr. Nushad Perera Group Chief Marketing Officer for Dialog Telekom said
“We see the Dialog brand as being a driver of enrichment and empowerment to Sri Lankan citizens and businesses,” chief marketing officer Nushad Perera said.
“Today Dialog is honoured to be a part of most Sri Lankan homes.”
