The instant lottery launch is a precursor to an online game GTECH Lanka hopes to launch later this year.

Meanwhile, the firm will retail its scratch lottery at Rs. 20.00 each, with over 500,000 tickets already sold across the island.

Sources say that despite retailing at twice the standard price of a lottery, the ticket was becoming hugely popular for its better winning odds.

The new lottery offers some of the better odds to win with the first game designed with a 25 percent chance to claim a total of Rs. 35.8 million in prize money.

The ticket offers two Rs. 700,000 grand prizes and with the minimum prize at Rs. 20.00.
