Cabinet Spokesperson and Health Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said the Cabinet at a Thursday morning meeting had approved a deal to allow Jetwing to set up the transit hotel.

De Silva said the project was part of government’s strategy to improve facilities at the island’s international airport to meet global standards.

The hotel project operated on a Build Own Transfer basis will be established on one of the floors in the new airport complex now nearing completion.

Jetwing has twelve months from the time of the contract to establish the hotel, including a cafeteria and day room facilities.
