May 22, 2008 (LBO) – The deadline for an essay on the knowledge economy targeting Sri Lankan students in higher education has been extended till June 05, the World Bank said. The competition was launched in partnership with LIRNEasia, and the Point Pedro Institute of Development in March 2008.
It coincided with the a recent World Bank study Building Sri Lanka™s Knowledge Economy by the World Bank;s South Asia finance and private sector development unit.
Graduates from Sri Lankan universities and private higher education institutes in Sri Lanka aged between 20 and 40 years could take part.
Three prizes of 1000 US dollars, 500 US dollars and 200 US dollars are on offer for te best three essays.
