Fixed-line operator Lanka Bell will stretch its network capacity by 20 percent by Christmas this year, under a US$ 2 million expansion programme. Retained earnings are paying for the expansion, senior Lanka Bell officials told Lanka Business Online, also helping the wireless local loop operator enhance its current service levels.
Lanka Bell earlier in November placed a US$ 500,000 order for wireless equipment from US based Airspan Networks as part of its expansion programme already under way.
