The deal which was inked late October, is in addition to rights to operate four weekly passenger services to Beijing and Shanghai from early next year, the Foreign Ministry said Friday.
From Jan-Sept., tourist arrivals from China grew 65 percent year on year.
“The Tourism authorities are hopeful that there are enormous prospects to attract high-end Chinese travelers to the country in the near future,” the statement said.
The Sri Lanka Tourist Board and around ten major Sri Lankan travel agents will be participating in the China International Tourism Mart (CITM) in Shanghai from Nov. 25-28. A Food Festival is also planned for this time.
