Sri Lanka business forum to be addressed by Vietnam President

Oct 01, 2011 (LBO) - Visiting Vietnam President Truong Tan Sang will address a business forum in Sri Lanka's capital Colombo, where a high level delegation of Vietnamese businessmen will also be taking part, the island's largest trade chamber said. "They are also interested in tourism projects such as eco-tourism, spiritual tourism, inbound and outbound travel, airline services, banking, and shipping services," the Ceylon Chamber said.

"The delegates also wish to expand trade activities for products such as cement, fertiliser, canned fish, construction material, high breed rice, plastic products and electronics."

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce said there will be a 'Sri Lanka – Vietnam Business Forum' followed by a business matchmaking session on October 14.

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) formed a Sri Lanka - Vietnam Business Council last year to promote two-way trade and investment.

"...[W]e anticipate positive results soon after the visit," president of the Sri Lanka - Vietnam Business Council, Anton Godfrey, said in a statement.

"We trust that there are lot of synergies between our two countries and this is the right time for us to match business partners of both countries at one location."
