Sri Lanka economic forum to discuss “re-balancing”: Ceylon Chamber

May 24, 2013 (LBO) - An economic policy forum in July aims to focus attention on critical areas of the economy that need more attention of policy makers, Sri Lanka's Ceylon Chamber said.



There had already been a focus on infrastructure development, north-east reconstruction, development of the less developed regions, and priority on agriculture and food security.

The chamber said the economic needed to be "re-balanced" with the rise in income levels and acceleration of development in the post war era.


The Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2013, to be held from July 09 to 11 on the theme of 'Re- Balancing the Economy' will have sessions on Managing the Fiscal Deficit, Export Strategy, Enhancing Competitiveness through higher Productivity, the CCC said.

It will have also sessions on Connecting to Untapped Resources, Demography and Skills Development, Powering the Nation for the Future and Challenges to Re-balancing the Economy. .
