Sri Lanka in US cruise call for 2011

Dec 08, 2010 (LBO) – Sri Lanka has been included in South Asian cruises run by Zegrahm, a US based cruise company, with calls at three key ports in the island in 2011, according to the travel calendar released by the firm. Sri Lanka ended a 30-year war in May 2009 and the country has been rated the top travel destination for 2010 by the New York Times and in second place by the National Geographic Magazine. The firm’s Clipper Odyssey, 110 passenger cruise liner will call at the port of Trincomalee in the north east and Colombo in January, Galle and Colombo in February, and do two tours in December where calls will also be made in Maldives and India.

The cruises also include inland travel to Habarana (near Trincomallee), Galle where there is an old Dutch Fort, as well as Colombo, Dambulla and Kandy in central Sri Lanka.
