Sri Lanka stocks close flat, low turnover

Oct 07, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lankan stocks closed lower by 0.01 percent on Wednesday with continued losses in banking sector stocks, brokers said. The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed down 0.48 points at 7,085.45 lower 0.01 percent.

S&P SL20 closed 1.82 points lower at 3,825.49 lower 0.05 percent.

"Investors are keeping a low profile until the budget," Lanka Securities said.

Turnover was 636 million rupees, down from 664 million rupees Tuesday with 67 stocks closing positive against 62 negative.

The main index showed losses in losses, DFCC Bank closing at 175.10 rupees, down 1.80 rupees after hitting a 52 week low price of 175.00 rupees and National Development Bank closed at 219.90 rupees, down 0.20 rupees following a 52 week low of 219.60 rupees.

Hatton National bank closed at 213.00 rupees, down 0.60 rupees.

Active trading was seen in the poultry sector with most of the stock recording gains, Grain Elevators closed at 98.00 rupees, up 3.80 rupees and Three Acre Farms closed at 147.30 rupees, down 3.50 rupees.
