Sri Lanka stocks up 0.10-pct: Net foreign inflow

Sep 29, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lankan stocks closed up 0.10 percent on Tuesday after three consecutive days of losses with gains seen some index heavy, brokers said.

The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed up 6.74 points at7,085.38 higher 0.10 percent.

S&P SL20 closed 18.62 points lower at 3,850.93 down 0.48 percent.

Turnover was 816 million rupees, down 1.8 billion rupees Monday with 56 stocks closing positive against 92 negative.

"Investors are holding back and waiting for the government's policy direction and budget." Lanka Securities said.

The main index showed gains in Nestle Lanka closing at 2,099.90 rupees, up 79.90 rupees and Sri Lanka Telecom closed up at 49.00 rupees, up 1.10 rupees.

Hemas Holdings closed at 88.90 rupees, up 2.90 rupees.

Foreign investors recorded a net foreign inflow of 40 million rupees.

John Keells Holdings closed at 172.70 rupees, down 0.30 rupees with a off the floor trade recorded of 500,000 shares at 173.50 rupees.

Active trading was seen in Textured Jersey with over 5.3 million shares traded and off the floor trades amounting to 4.5 million shares at 31.50 rupees. The stock gained 0.10 rupees to close at 31.50 rupees. "The contribution from the stock to total turnover stood at 20 percent," Lanka Securities said.   (UPDATED)
