Oct 05, 2010 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's ETV, a terrestrial broadcaster covering the island's western province, has put its programming on Dialog TV, a unit of Dialog Axiata, reaching a fast growing subscriber base around the country, officials said. Lanka Business Online is a related entity of ETV.

"Today we have 200,000 homes, hotels, hospitals, guest houses, lobbies and airport lounges connected to Dialog TV," Nushad Perera, head of Dialog TV said.

"Next year it may double by the way the Sri Lankan economy is looking."

Perera said about 1,000,000 people are estimated to be now watching Dialog TV.

ETV broadcasts award winning imported and locally produced English language content, but its reach is limited to the western province of Sri Lanka.

"The Dialog platform offers an opportunity to take our channel to other parts of the country which want to watch ETV," the channel's chief executive Lakshaman Bandaranayake said.

ETV is a free-to-air channel and will also be available free on the Dialog TV platform.
