Oct 02, 2007 (LBO) – Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has signed up PC House, an IT firm, to package broadband connections with its computers, the telecommunications provider said. "Through this initiative SLT will be able to offer Broadband products to its customers via 41 PC House branches including North and East in addition to SLT teleshop’s and Regional offices island wide," the firm said in a statement.

"Any customers can purchase equipment such as PCs/Laptops, ADSL modems and routers from any PC House branch with the technical support for the configuration."

PC House as an authorized dealer of SLT broadband services will accept new applications for domestic and office based ADSL technology which provides download speed up to 2Mbps connectivity, the company said.

SLT chief executive Shoji Takahashi said the link with PC House will help SLT to popularize Broadband service in urban and rural areas of the country.

PC House chairman S H M Rishan said his firm will engage in joint marketing with SLT and will provide the hardware to access broadband services, especially in rural areas.

PC House is a business partner in Sri Lanka for brands such as Intel
