1996 World Cup squad to lead Sri Lanka’s first Dad’s T20 Cricket Tournament

Aug 06, 2018 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s first ever T20 cricket tournament intended only for the daddies has been launched under the guidance of 1996 World Cup cricket team.

Former captain Arjuna Ranatunga will be the advisor of this ‘My Dad My Superstar; Dad’s Cricket Tournament’ which will be comprised of 18 cricket teams including those who played in the 1996 World Cup.

The tournament will be held at the grounds of NCC, Bloomfield, BRC, and Colts in the next month and the organizers have decided to hold the final and semi-final as day and night matches.

The tournament organized by the SPORTONIX will be used for a contribution to the development of cricket infrastructure in rural schools.

Asanka Gurusinha, Hashan Tillakaratne, Sanath Jayasuriya, Chaminda Vaas, Pramodya Wickramasinghe, Ravindra Pushpakumara and Upul Chandana attended the launching ceremony held yesterday.

Former test players Nuwan Zoysa, Lanka de Silva, Avishka Gunawardena and other senior players also present at the event.
