Cabinet nod for implementation of promotion programs to minimize effects attacks on tourism

May 30, 2019 (LBO) - Sri Lanka's cabinet of ministers has approved several relief packages for the tourism industry in the island.

Approval was given to a proposal presented by Johm Amaratunga, minister of Tourism Development, Wild Life and Christian Religious Affairs for the implementation of a combined promotion program with overseas tour operators who brings more than 250 tourists in one instance, using 150 million in order to promote tourism in Sri Lanka.

Achieving the goals of 'Sri Lanka Tourism Strategic Plan 2017-2020 was disturbed due to the recent terrorist attack.

Therefore, the Ministers also approved a proposal for the implementation of a short term public relations program for 45 days and six month advertising program in order to re-establish Sri Lanka's tourism brand name.
