Hemas Holdings partnered with the Ministry of Environment to support its environmental initiative ‘Not a Rule but a Discipline’ focused on the responsible disposal and recycling of plastic waste in Sri Lanka.

As a part of this initiative recycle bins will be placed at Government institutions and schools to collect disposable plastic pens and toothbrushes. Once collected, these items will be recycled minimizing the impact on landfills.

“Sri Lanka is an island with unique beauty. As a Sri Lankan company we believe it’s our duty and obligation to protecting our eco system. We are aware of the impacts of plastic pollution. This is not an issue that can be tackled alone, we need to work together and have collaborations and partnerships. Hemas is proud to be a partner of this initiative which has been spearheaded by the Ministry of Environment. This is only a starting point, and we look forward to continuing on this journey as we strive to preserve our environment for the generations to come,” said Kasturi Chellaraja Wilson, CEO of Hemas Holdings PLC.
