Oscars 2020: ‘Parasite’ wins best picture & makes history

Feb 10, 2020 (LBO) – The 2020 Academy Awards belonged to “Parasite” and became the first foreign-language film to claim the award and the first South Korean film ever to win an Oscar.

The South Korean film won four Oscars, including the biggest prize: Best Picture. Director Bong Joon-ho stole the show at this year’s academy awards, as his film won best screenplay, best director and best picture.

Other winners from the night were Brad Pitt, who won Best Supporting Actor for Once upon a time in Hollywood, Taika Waititi for Best Adapted Screenplay with Jojo Rabbit, Laura Dern who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Marriage Story, and Joaquin Phoenix, who won Best Actor for his role in The Joker.
