Sri Lanka stocks close down 0.13 pct

October 31, 2012 (LBO) - Sri Lanka stocks closed down 0.13 percent Wednesday with S & P SL 20 index of large cap stocks closing higher at 4.18 points. The Colombo All Share Index closed at 5,513.64 down 6.98 points and the S & P SL 20 Index closed 4.18 points higher at 2988.05 up 0.14 percent.

The day's turnover reached 477 million rupees. Top contributors to turnover were JKH with 237 million rupees, Chevron with 52 million rupees and Lanka IOC with 46 million rupees.

Most active counters for the day were Colombo Land & Development, Touchwood Investments and Lanka Hospitals, brokers said.

Aitken Spence Holdings PLC gained 0.80 cents to close at 126.80 rupees up 0.63 percent.

Index heavy John Keells Holdings PLC slipped 1.60 rupees to close at 205.20 rupees down 0.77 percent.

AVIVA NDB Insurance PLC slipped 5.70 rupees to close at 370.00 rupees down 1.52 percent.

Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC slipped 0.90 cents to close at 200.00 rupees down 0.45 percent.

Colombo Dockyard PLC slipped 0.40 cents to close at 219.60 rupees down 0.18 percent.

Dialog Axiata PLC closed flat at 7.80 rupees.

Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC closed flat at 142.00 rupees.

Commercial Bank gained 1.90 rupees to close at 104.90 rupees up 1.84 percent. DFCC Bank gained 1.50 rupees to close at 108.50 rupees up 1.40 percent. Hatton National Bank PLC slipped 0.50 cents to close at 148.00 rupees down 0.34 percent.
