Sri Lanka stocks close lower 0.09-pct

Aug 07, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s stocks closed lower 0.09 percent on Friday, with losses seen in some index heavy stocks and investors taking profits, brokers said. The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed 6.64 points lower at 7,370.60 down 0.09 percent. The S&P SL20 closed 5.36 points higher at 4,097.53 up 0.13 percent. Turnover was 1.08 billion rupees, down from 2.5 billion rupees Thursday with 76 stocks closing positive against 101 negative. The main index showed losses in Carson and Cumberbatch closing at 395.60 rupees, down 8.40 rupees and Ceylon Tobacco Company closed at 956.00 rupees, down 4.00 rupees. In banking stocks, Commercial Bank closed at 172.70 rupees, up 0.70 rupees and DFCC closed at 200.00 rupees, up 1.40 rupees. Dialog Axiata closed flat at 11.20 rupees with over 1.23 million rupees traded. John Keells Holdings closed at 192.50 rupees, down 0.50 rupees.
