Sri Lanka stocks close up 0.3-pct

July 13, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s stocks closed up 0.27 percent on Monday for a third consecutive session with plantation and telecom sector stocks showing gains, brokers said. The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed 18.66 points higher at 7,002.78 up 0.27 percent. The S&P SL20 closed 11.17 points higher at 3,916.44 up 0.29 percent. Turnover was 531.24 million rupees, down from 602.15 million rupees Friday with 82 stocks closing positive against 70 negative. The main index showed gains in Cargills Ceylon closing at 144.60 rupees, up 9.40 rupees and Dialog Axiata closing at 10.50 rupees, up 0.20 rupees. Sri Lanka Telecom cloed at 45.10 rupees, up 0.70 rupees. Kegalle Plantations closed 141.00 rupees, up 45.00 rupees with the company announcing a dividend of 45.00 rupees Monday. Maskeliya Plantations closed at 10.30 rupees, up 0.50 rupees. In banking stocks, Hatton National Bank closed at 209.10 rupees, up 1.10 rupees with one off the floor trade of over 289,000 shares at 210.00 rupees. Commercial Bank closed at 164.80 rupees, up 0.60 rupees and DFCC closed at 194.10 rupees, up 3.60 rupees.
