Sri Lanka stocks close up 0.5-pct

July 10, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s stocks closed up 0.53 percent on Friday for a second consecutive day with JKH and banking stocks continuing to show gains, brokers said. The Colombo benchmark All Share Price Index closed 37.07 points higher at 6,984.12 up 0.53 percent. The S&P SL20 closed 34.56 points higher at 3,905.27 higher at 0.89 percent. Turnover was 602.15 million rupees, down up from 1.03 billion rupees Thursday with 105 stocks closing positive against 43 negative. The main index showed gains in John Keells Holding closing at 182.80 rupees, up 3.80 rupees and Commercial bank closing at 164.20 rupees, up 2.20 rupees. In other banking stocks, Hatton National Bank closed at 208.00 rupees, up 0.30 rupees and Sampath Bank closed at 253.50 rupees, up 2.80 rupees. DFCC closed at 190.50 rupees, up 0.50 rupees. Dialog closed flat at 10.30 rupees.
