Sri Lankan PM ready to resign to make way for an all-party government

Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has told the party leaders that he is willing to resign and make way for an all-party government to take over.

A majority of the Party Leaders have decided that the President and the Prime Minister must resign immediately.

The majority view of the Party Leaders was that the Speaker should take over as Temporary President, for approximately a week, and thereafter an All-Party Government should be formed to govern the country, and Parliament should appoint an Interim President.
