Nov 01, 2011 (LBO) – Sri Lankan transport firms have formed a partnership with the local branch of a global professional body that will lobby the government on policy changes needed to improve the island’s logistics business. The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Sri Lanka has teamed up with 15 corporate entities from the public and private sector in a ‘Corporate Partnership Programme’, a statement said.
Members are eligible to participate in the CILT’s ‘Logistics Directors’ Forum’ to be launched shortly to create a dialogue between the government and industry on issues related to the industry, it said.

The programme also aims to create awareness among the Sri Lankan corporate community on the importance of logistics and transport in addition to raising standards and professionalism in the industry.
