Vote on Facebook for your favourite feature on Emirates Economy Class


(PRESS RELEASE) – Even among seasoned travellers, air travel invariably generates a conversation and now Emirates is engaging in one with its customers and fans in Sri Lanka via social media.

The global connector of people, places and experiences has invited its Facebook fans in Sri Lanka to vote for one of three features that distinguish the Emirates Economy Class travel experience — the award-winning ‘ice’ in-flight entertainment system, the exciting kids’ products on board and the gourmet cuisine served to passengers.

Voting at ends on Monday, 5th December, and five lucky Facebook fans drawn from all those who voted, will each win a goodie bag of attractive Emirates branded merchandise, the airline said.

“The numerous international awards that our Economy Class has won demonstrate the great effort we make at Emirates to add value to the travel experience, regardless of the class of travel,” said Chandana de Silva, Emirates Area Manager, Sri Lanka & Maldives. “These features are award winners in their own right, and combine to make the Emirates in-flight experience distinctive for adult and young passengers alike.”

“Engaging with our fans in Sri Lanka via Facebook to ascertain which of these are most liked is a great idea because it will be fun for them, and insightful for us.”

Emirates’ Facebook post, geo-targeted for Sri Lanka asks: ‘What’s your favourite feature in Emirates’ Economy Class? Vote for your favourite on board experience by liking one of the 3 images.’

The first image seeking a vote depicts the largest in-seat TV screens in the world with over 2,500 channels of movies, music, audio books, podcasts and games – a standard in Emirates’ Economy Class cabins.

The second image seeks a vote for family fun on board: ‘Whether they’re flying alone or with their families, Emirates offers a wide range of products and services for young travellers including dedicated TV channels, toys and magazines as well as special meals,’ the caption to the image states.

The third image appeals to those who like to indulge their taste buds, seeking a vote for ‘Gourmet cuisine and complimentary beverages, served by our multi-national cabin crew from over 130 countries.’

The winner drawn from all Emirates Facebook voting fans is to be announced on 6th December 2016.

Emirates currently operates 34 flights a week from Colombo to Dubai and a daily flight to Singapore, linking Sri Lanka to a vast global network of more than 150 destinations on six continents using state-of-the-art Boeing 777 aircraft.
