Sri Lanka marching towards new political culture: PM’s New Year message
Apr 14, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister in his New Year message says, the country is marching towards a new political culture where ethnic, religious and political differences have no value.
“We are marching towards a new political culture for the progress of the entire nation where ethnic, religious and Political differences have no value,” Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was quoted as saying in a statement.
“It is unique that this year people are able to celebrate the New Year without any pressure, fear or suppression.
”
The statement says during this season all Sri Lankans celebrate Sinhala and Tamil New Year irrespective of their race, caste or creed.
The Sinhala and Tamil New Year is a cultural festival which is very important to every Sri Lankan.
