‘s Tourism Minister anoints elephants at Pinnawala orphanage

Apr 15, 2015 (LBO) –Sri Lanka’s Tourism Minister, Navin Dissanayake anointed about one hundred elephants at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, which is one of the major tourists attraction point in the Island.

This was taken place at the auspicious time of 09.06 this morning (15) parallel to the National oil anointing ceremony which is a part of traditional Sinhala – Tamil New Year celebration.
A large number of local and foreign tourists were at the Elephant Orphanage to witness the occasion, the ministry said in a statement.
