Aromatic Growth

July 27, 2008 (LBO) – Cosmetics manufacturer Oriflame says the market for its products in Sri Lanka grew by almost half in 2007, more than the average growth rate of markets in the Asian region. Oriflame Cosmetics is present in 59 countries with a sales force of 2.3 million independent sales consultants.

“This means there is a lot of potential,” said Kanny Gordon, marketing manager, Oriflame Lanka Private Limited.

Sales of Oriflame products in Asia increased by 43 percent in 2007, Gordon said at the launch of its new perfume ‘Sensoria’.

The new brand of women’s perfume was introduced to the market through its local agent Natural Swedish Cosmetics.

“Sensoria is created by the world renowned French perfumer Veronique Nyberg who has developed perfumes for international labels such as Christion Dior, Cacherel and Boucheron,” Gordon said.

“We are in the midst of expansion in the Asian market which is the fastest growing segment in the world,” Per Gunnarsson, managing director, Oriflame Lanka, said.

The global brand with over 11 years market presence in the island has introduced over 384 products to the local market in 2008.
