April 30, 2007 (LBO) – Two Sri Lankan firms which are providing disaster recovery services for BPO firms in Sri Lanka are expanding and hunting for more business.
Lanka Communication (LankaCom) and Blue Chip Customer Engineering say natural disasters and increasing unrest is driving businesses to look for disaster recovery specialists to provide business continuity services.
œActually it was the customers to which we provide other services that came up with the request to start such a venture for disaster recovery, senior business development manger of LankaCom Nilanga Jayawickrama told LBO.
LankaCom, a subsidiary of Singapore Telecom International, is a licensed data communication and internet service provider in Sri Lanka.
Blue Chip Customer Engineering is part of a UK-based IT support firm specializing in IBM.
The companies provide backup services including an alternate site to continue the business with all facilities within one hour.
