Aug 29, 2016 (LBO) – The EXIM bank of China has agreed to fund civil work construction of the proposed Ratnapura Expressway (73.9 kilometers) from Kahathuduwa interchange on the Southern Expressway to Pelmandulla, a statement said.
“Feasibility studies, preliminary design and environmental impact assessment are being carried out at present,” a statement on the latest cabinet decisions said.
“EXIM bank of China has agreed to fund its civil work construction.”
The Expressway is to be constructed in four parts and it was approved by the cabinet of ministers to call for technical and financial proposals from companies recommended by the Government of China for the each part of the road.
The proposal was made by Lakshman Kiriella, Minister of Higher Education and Highways.
