In a statement to the Minister of Finance Sarath Amunugama, the JVP called for the removal of all taxes from tsunami-affected businesses.

“We request that steps be taken to release industrialists and traders (affected by the tsunami) from all taxes due to the government,” said the statement in Sinhala.
