Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) diversified its business interests further, opening an internet data center (IDC) in Colombo.
The SLTiDC will offer a range of data housing facilities including web sites and services, mailing systems for retail customers and reselling opportunities. rn
rnThe data center also offers clients rack space at the data center to house their own backup servers. rn
rnIDC services will be coupled with 24 hour customer care, with other value added services including data backups every 24 hours and customization of facilities.rn
rnSLTs move into data services heralds its strategy to increase non-voice revenues, which, currently accounts for more that 90 per cent of its revenues as at 2002. rn
rnA call-center project is also under, with customers already lining up to use the facility, SLT officials overseeing the project said. rn
