Dec 05, 2007 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s Postal Department is expanding its high value stamp range with a 200 rupee issue later this year and is also seeking public views to issue personalised stamps for private entities.
Stamp values currently vary from 50 cents and to 1,000 rupees.
“For persons or companies who want commemorative stamps, we hope to bring in a process to issue private stamps,” R D P Gamini, Deputy Post Master General, told LBO Friday.
“The parties can pay the total cost and buy the bulk of stamps and use it to send their company mails or more. We hope the public will bring in suggestions for it so it can be part of the new policy,” Gamini said.
