Indian External Affairs Minister meets with Opposition Leader

A special meeting was held yesterday (06) between Indian Foreign Minister Dr. Subramaniam Jayasankar and Leader of the Opposition Sajid Premadasa, who is on a three-day official visit.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations and exchanged views on the long-standing historical ties between the two countries.

Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa thanked Sri Lankans for their recent support in building houses and recalled the village of ‘Modi’.Opposition leader Sajid Premadasa also thanked the Indian government for its support for ‘Suva Seriya’.

Meanwhile, Indian Foreign Minister Dr. Subramaniam Jayasankar extended a special invitation to Opposition Leader Sajid Premadasa to pay an official visit to India.
