Branded as the ‘Dialog – University of Moratuwa Mobile Communications Research Laboratory,’ the unit will specialise in applied research in mobile telecommunication technologies and internet applications.
The Laboratory will be funded by Dialog GSM, and will harness the leading edge technical capabilities inherent to the company, its parent Telekom Malaysia Bhd and the Moratuwa University.
The landmark initiative – billed to be the most significant co-operation between the University and the Technology Sector to-date – will signal a new era for telecommunications research and development in the country, says Dialog GSM chief, Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya.
The lab will focus on stretching the frontiers of applied mobile technologies through research and development relating to initiatives of national and regional significance.
