Aug 13, 2009 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s Central Bank said it has promoted six officers as Assistant Governor with effect from August 10, 2009. The officers are W M Karunaratne, P Liyanage , J P Mampitiya, C K Nanayakkara, B D W A Silva and P N Weerasinghe.
“These promotions have been made in line with the succession plan of the bank and to address the new challenges of the Central Bank,” it said in a statement.
Karunaratne, a former Director of Regional Development who has served the bank for 30 years, was promoted as the Assistant Governor in-charge of Agency Functions (Regional Development).
Liyanage, a former Director of International Operations also with 30 years of service, was made the Assistant Governor in-charge of Economic & Price Stability (Policy Review & Monitoring).
Mampitiya, a former Director of Payments and Settlements with 28 years of service, was named as the Assistant Governor in-charge of Financial System Stability (Payments and Settlements) and IT Services.
Nanayakkara, a former Secretary who has worked at the bank for 34 years, was promoted as the Assistant Governor in-charge of Corporate Services
