Mar 30, 2011 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s national carrier SriLankan Airlines will operate an extra flight to Mumbai in India on Saturday, April 02 to cater to cricket fans who want to see the World Cup final. The special flight to Mumbai is in addition to the airline’s regular daily frequency to Mumbai, the airline said. The special flight will leave Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport at 07 am and arrive in Bombay at 9.25 am, an airline statement said.
The special flight will depart Mumbai on April 03 at 5 am and arrive in Colombo at 7.20 am.
The cricket final is to be played at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai with Sri Lanka qualifying after defeating New Zealand in Tuesday’s semi-final in Colombo.
