Sri Lanka all out for 246 in second Test

HOBART, Australia, Nov 18, 2007 (AFP) – Sri Lanka were all out for 246 in reply to Australia’s first innings 542 for five declared late on the third day of the second cricket Test at Bellerive Oval here Sunday.

Even though Australia held a 296-run lead on the first innings, skipper Ricky Ponting decided to rest his bowlers and bat again with 26 overs remaining on Sunday and two full days left to play.

Skipper Mahela Jayawardene topscored with 104, his 19th Test hundred and first against Australia.

Paceman Brett Lee, man-of-the-match with eight wickets in last week’s Brisbane Test win, was again Australia’s best bowler with 4-82 off 23.2 overs.

Seamer Stuart Clark (2-32) and leg-spinner Stuart MacGill (2-81) both finished with two wickets. .
