Sri Lanka Confifi Hotel group gets new board

June 09, 2010 (LBO) – Sri Lanka's Confifi Hotel Holdings which was taken over by Lanka Orix Leasing Company (LOLC) from former owners the Furkhan family, has appointed a new director board from Wednesday, a stock exchange filing said. LOLC now owns 52 percent of Confifi Hotel Holdings and 25.5 percent of Riverina Hotels.

Ishara Nanayakkara, Kapila Jayawardena, Kalsha Upekha Amarasinghe, Don Soshan Kamantha Amarasekera and Ajith Lasantha Devasurendra are the new board of directors of Confifi Hotel Holdings.

Nanayakkara is the deputy chairman of the LOLC group, while Jayawardena holds the position of chief executive, the filing said.

Kalsha Upekha Amarasinghe is a director at an LOLC subsidiary company, Don Soshan Kamantha Amarasekera, an attorney-at-law and tax consultant; and Devasurendra is the chief executive at Taprobane Holdings, the stock brokering unit of LOLC.

LOLC on May 26, 2010 bought a 43.3 percent stake in Confifi Hotel Holdings, which in addition to owning a hotel also owns 21.8 percent of Eden Hotel Lanka and 26.74 percent of Riverina Hotels.
