May 23, 2008 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s Hilton hotel has won the regional and global Hilton brand awards for 2007, beating some 500 hotels across the world, a statement from the ministry of tourism said. The Hilton Colombo was judged the best hotel in Asia in the balanced scorecard category which measures a hotel’s performance in team member satisfaction, team member training, guest service feedback and loyalty members’ feed back.
According to the statement, Hilton Colombo had attracted the highest score for guest satisfaction in Asia for 2007 and had been judged as the most improved hotel in the Asia Pacific region out of 51 hotels.
“¦ it recognizes the tremendous efforts made by all of us in delivering international hospitality standards in a very challenging local environment,” General Manager, William Costlay was quoted as saying in the statement.
“It is also great for the hospitality industry of Sri Lanka as it demonstrates to a world-wide audience that Sri Lanka can provide top quality world-standard levels of services,” he said.
