The defence ministry said the base identified as 'X-ray' base was raided at 11.15 am was a 'hub' of Tamil Tiger activities.

The defence ministry quoting the Sri Lanka Air Force said raids were carried out with "pinpoint accuracy on information obtained through real-time air surveillance and ground reconnaissance."
