Sri Lanka north to put on business expo

Dec 14, 2009 (LBO) - Sri Lanka is to host its first ever business expo in the North of the island, following the end of the country’s over three decade war.

The expo is to be held from April 18 to April, 20 2010 at the Jaffna Central College.

The trade fair is expected to strengthen business and trade links between the North and the rest of the country, accelerating a revival in the Northern economy and overall development.

"Companies can expand their businesses and will have an opportunity to analyse the market first hand," organisers – Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services, said in a statement.

The trade fair will cover a wide range of industries such as construction, processed food and agriculture, food and beverages, packaging, electronics, apparel and more.

The expo â€˜Your Gateway to Yarlpanam’ or 'Your Gateway to Jaffna', is organised in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jaffna and supported by the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau.
